Women's Pelvic Health

Southeast Sculpting + Rejuvenation

Aesthetic Medical Spa located in Fort Mill, SC

Pelvic health and wellness is not an older woman’s issue but a lifelong issue for every woman.  Strenuous childbirth, multiple births, age related menopause or menopause from disease produce unwanted physical changes that no woman can escape. In the past, women suffered in silence, tolerated the consequences, or submitted to major surgery to resolve the problems.  Now there is another option, one well worth considering: energy based treatments. These treatments include FormaV, VTone, Morpheus8, and Morpheus8V. Call 803-396-2727 to schedule your complimentary consultation today.

Women's pelvic health Q&A

What is Votiva/FormaV?

Votiva/FormaV is the latest FDA approved non-invasive device for women’s intimate health related to laxity of the vagina, urethra, and lower bowel area.  It uses radio frequency energy (RF) to tighten the internal and external vaginal tissue using gentle thermal tissue remodeling. The result is a tighter, stronger pelvic floor.

How does Votiva/FormaV work?

Votiva/FormaV uses two complimentary technologies to address your health issues.  Votiva/FormaV, with its FormaV handpiece gently and uniformly heats the treated tissue, stimulating new collagen and elastin as well as increasing blood flow and sensation to the treated areas.  It can be used both internally and externally to produce stronger, tighter tissues.

Votiva/FormaV is gentle and requires no topical anesthetic.  During treatment a small device, roughly the size of an ultrasound probe is inserted internally for about ten minutes and applied externally for 10-15 minutes to deliver safe and effective heat to the labia, perineum, urethra, and clitoral areas. There is a warm sensation but no pain and no downtime following the procedure.

The second technology uses the Morpheus8 handpiece to remodel the external vaginal area only.  This uses a more aggresive radio frequency to contract and tighten vaginal tissue and correct labial hypertrophy. It may also be used to treat cosmetic issues like wrinkles and loose skin of the labia.  This procedure requires a topical anesthetic as there may be some discomfort.  While there is no downtime, we do recommend no tubs, pools, or sex for 2-3 days afterwards.

What results may I expect?

Some patients report almost immediate results, however, final results of a single treatment are usually visible after the first few weeks.  Votiva/FormaV patients report improvement in lubrication, decreased pain, and vaginal discomfort.  Bladder control is improved but most need three treatments for optimum results. We recommend a series of three spaced 3-4 weeks apart.
