Pelvic Floor Muscle Strengthening Q & A

What is VTone?

VTone is a device that utilizes Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) to rehabilitate, re-educate, and strengthen weak pelvic floor muscles for the treatment of stress, urge, and mixed urinary incontinence.

Far better than Kegel exercises, this device electrically stimulates the equivalent of 1000 Kegel exercises during the 20-30 minute treatment. An anatomically shaped two sided applicator is inserted into the vaginal canal while you relax, read, sleep, or watch television.

There is no pain or downtime, only slight muscle soreness, much like you would experience after a vigorous workout.

Is it painful?

VTone feels like a kegel. It is merely an electrical pulse making your muscles contract.

What’s the downtime?

There is no downtime associated with this treatment. You may feel slight muscle soreness, but otherwise you can go about your daily activities.

How long does it take?

Each session lasts about 20-30 minutes, but will depend on each patient.

How many treatments do I need?

Typically you will need a series of 6 treatments spaced 1-3 weeks apart.

When will I see results?

Results will start to appear soon after treatment and improve through your treatment course.
